If you’re looking for something fun and creative, the app Stop Motion Studio is it.

With the free version, you are able to create a movie from still images (photos) and string them together.

It’s very easy to use. Our daughter, Mchalie, used an iPhone and was able to create several videos on her own. It appears to be very user-friendly and not very technical.

I asked her for suggestions/tips for anyone wanting to try it, and she said that making small movements for each photo was key. She attempted to add a few voiceovers, but they overlapped when she played the final version. She’s going to keep trying.

Also, we have 3 tripods. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a single one so Mchalie held the camera for each photo. Here is one of our favorites tripods that’s misplaced:

As she continues to learn more, we will share it here and update the blog.

Here’s an example of one she made stringing together 82 photos:

Cinderella’s Transformation

Also, here’s a second example of another one she made stringing together 54 photos:

Beauty Meets the Beast

Harry Potter Stop Motion Comedy

I did purchase Stop Motion Studio Pro today, so she could try to add a few additional features (example: title screen). The purchase is definitely optional, but this seems like something she’s very interested in, so I figured it was worth the cost.

It’s a great time to try something new and creative. Have fun! Show us what you create.

Please keep in mind that I may receive very small commissions when you click on my links and make purchases; however, this does not impact my reviews & comparisons. I share links as an Amazon Affiliate, but these are real purchases. The small commissions received help to pay for this website.
